Agreed. A simple list of all the production, a pivot table, and Bob's your uncle.

I wonder if maybe they simply lack the necessary IT skills to extract the data from wherever it is and reformat it?

My mother in law worked for the Scotsman; my sister in law is a journalist. Both have stories about lazy fact finding but my m.i.l says that they would have got the sack at the Scotsman.
We all can think of road tests which suggest that very little driving appeared to have been done

Motor Sport is the only car magazine I ever had a subscription to and the reason being that it is the only one that is properly researched and written. I stopped it about 15 years ago when F1 got diluted IMHO.

Good to hear the Scotsman holding up the standards.

Motor Sport still has a very well written insight into what's really going on in F1.

So Morgan *said* they'd build 100

& as Shooter suggests, by the time they've built prototypes, crash tested a car or two, and replaced a few less-deliberately crashed cars, you have 107

So where did 117 come from?
Maybe the journo asked Charles Morgan, who in his passion for the product is *always* accurate, and *never* exaggerates.

Aha, but whether 107 or 117 have you allowed for the odd chassis number being skipped, which I believe does/did occur. hide hide innocent laugh2

I've now read the article and it's just a bit too skimmy.
A more comprehensive review on fewer cars would have been a more interesting read.
