I think that's because they are all trad-chassis cars with the old Rover V8, Dave.

Peter was referring to the current Aero-chassis cars with the BMW V8.

No, After the AMG Incident, which has so far racked up 79 hours time, plus parts, I was wondering how much it would cost to replace if the worst happened!!

It is insured for £78,995, which may be a little low!

To make things totally clear....
Tarka is not and will not be for sale whilst I am still able to drive!

Could you just clarify if it's for sale or not? 😉

I think the Aero +8 will become one of the favourites. It catches the visible style of Morgan but makes it more enjoyable to put mileage on along with the sheer performance. When the V8s run out it will be interesting to see how the line evolves. I do not envy the factory team working the replacement strategy for such a great range of cars they have developed over the years (bugs'n'all).

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Almost impossible to sell a new V8 in Italy. Not only do they cost an arm and a leg the cost of tax and insurance puts the car in the market where prospective owners need to have a darned good income.

Very strange when you consider the number of very powerful cars built in Italy. I suspect most of them are exported.

Has there not been punitive tax on large capacity engines for many years in Italy ? I remember that Ferrari used to build a 2 litre version of the 308 (the 208) for the domestic market.

Now based on power. Over 250hp you pay a super tax for every kw over. Maserati produce a 250hp Ghibli for Italy.

A friend with a hybrid Lexus has just been stung for a huge amount of back tax due to some miscalculation. This goes to show that unlike other countries there is no rationality regarding polution. Just how much they can sting you for swear

I somehow disagree.
On some "special" cars, like the Aero Plus 8, taxes will not be a no go.
For sure they are killing all the hot hatches with a lot of HP and a "low" purchase price.

In CH we have these two on sale (two more have gone in the last few months)

PS yes, CH prices are in general much higher. Do not be surprised.
