Following on from these TV based posts, did anyone see "In Concert" last night on the Red Button?
It featured Tears for Fears and I for one had forgotten just how good they were. It made me go and dig out my old cassette tape collection and yes, there it was, and also yes Brian Johnson was good but I don't like modern BMW's so I only watched the first half.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

You missed the M1 then Reg smile
And possibly the Z Coupe?
I ran a '76 528 Auto in the early to mid 80's. Nice car but the 3 speed auto was a bit of a pig when cold. Plus auto choke on the twin carbs that let me down one winter on a small roundabout, until I'd got the engine warmed a little more. The local BMW dealer (Richard Cound in Gloucester) hadn't a clue how to set them up...

When we installed our first LAN, it was Amstrad PC1512s, 4MB Token Ring cabling, Novell Netware, and an IBM AT server. It was so wildly successful, I had to upgrade the disc storage on the server after just a couple of months. We wanted an upgrade that would last a good while, so we went for plenty of capacity and I put in a 60MB disc.

Those were the days...

I am always amazed as a final on the Apprentice that Alan Sugar hasn't got them to sold Amstrad PCs...anybody who could would be a worthy winner.

The thing with self made men is that their profit has to come from somewhere. So either they screw the suppliers and staff or they screw the customers. Or they avoid tax.
Making shed loads of money is almost impossible from a Barrow boy start.
Footnote: I'm a cynic.

Or by using somebody elses money...that's my experience of private equity, debt is cheap....then they screw others.

I have always thought the same way. I always looked after my staff, paid suppliers and the tax man, and got screwed by the multinationals.

Needless to say I am not a billionaire. frown

Reality TV is just a cheap way of filling broadcasting hours isn't it?
I know someone who was on one of those "we'll find you a house where you want one" programs. He and his wife applied as they wanted to move to Hampshire. They were accepted and taken to Dorset. When they expressed surprise and re-iterated that they had asked for Hampshire the response was..... What's that got to do with it? This is TV mate!
He said they had a nice week in a hotel though......
