I wonder if your temperature gauge is the same as modern(ish) Jaguars though Peter.
On the XK-8 etc for example, the oil pressure and temerature are driven from the ECU. The gauges do not show the actual temp or oil pressure, unless an aftermarket modification kit is fitted. On the Jag the temperature will rise to approx 90 and remain there while the car is running... Not certain, it is possible to show the numerical value in the LCD display within the speedometer. So When it is good and hot I must take a reading using the IR temperature measuring device at key points and compare with the information provided. If they correlate then however the value is derived, it is meaningful... There is a temperature warning light that is supposed to come on when the car is running "too hot". But to be honest, as long as the engine is seemingly working well, not vomiting fluid, etc I don't worry...

I think this comes under the heading of " if there isnt a problem then dont fix it". You know that conventional water based coolants work - you've used them all your life and the manufacturer of your engine uses them too. So why pay extra for no real gain?
The Evans coolant is slightly less good at removing heat - thats shown by the temperature rise quoted as 3 to 7 degrees. You dont know its long term effect on seals. You only have their description to go on.
Why bother?

I use a different waterless coolant in my Lancia. Got it from RTCC. Holden have it on their website as well. https://www.holden.co.uk/displayproduct.asp?pCode=080.861Seems to work well in the Lancia and is inexpensive compared to the Evans stuff

Used to have a Fulvia in early 1970s it dropped to bits could not keep ahead of the rust . What have you got.

Everyone to their own decision, but surely, if you feel you need waterless coolant on a Morgan, then there is a fault in your car's cooling system?
I replaced a 12 year old MMC radiator on my 4/4 (OK, not an Aero) 2 years ago.
A Mulfab was fitted by Berrybrook and the cooling system flushed.
All previous issues solved.

Interestingly these waterless coolants also run the system at in effect zero pressure, you can take the header cap off when the system is up to temperature without scalding yourself..
However the systems are designed to run at pressure, therefore I am not sure this is a good thing.
For me it seems a big waste of time when BMW spend millions developing their cars. I have never heard of someone having a failure that would have been avoided using a non-standard anti-freeze.

Well all, Weighing up the many view’s gratefully provided above, I will not be pursuing the waterless coolant options. The most compelling argument against being the risk to the BMW warranty and the depth of research BMW will have extended to ensure compatibility of all components with glycol.
Many thanks for the responses to my question, I’m pleased the subject was not so controversial as the first time it was posted. Thanks Rog for the link.
