It’s a known fact that 90% of all Harley Davidson motorcycles ever made are still on the road..........

The other 10% made it home! 😉

When I had my Piaggio scooter most bikers I met would lift a hand or nod. Most of the classic & vintage rallies in Aberdeenshire are all make events with cars bikes tractors & sometimes steam. There are a few single make club events like Morris Minor & Ford RS.

Perhaps its because population is relatively low so enthusiasts are more accepting of others choice as little chance of meeting same. Never met another M3W on the road in mine though I have seen Calum & car

I know I only posted this quite recently, but it seems so relevant to the discussion.....Time to bring in Shobba.

That was the front suspension dipping under braking! smile

I remember my R100RT (A684HAC) used to dive quite a lot... smile

The R80GS from my era didn't smile
I have ridden, but not owned, the telelever equipped bikes (R1100s IIRC) which made an interesting comparison.

So what's wrong with a kit car? My most enjoyable car was my Westfield (bought as a rolling chassis) and then fully fitted out using engine/gearbox and all of the other bits and pieces, 95% obtained from car breakers. Truly a long adventure but worth it as I built and used it over 10years. Probably better than the Caterham alternative (at the time).

I quite agree, Ken. Sure, there are bad kit cars, just as there are bad mainstream cars, but I've never really understood the popular prejudice against them.
