It’s been a long drawn out saga regarding fitting the Minilites......at long last the car is going down to Williams tomorrow for the fitting. What I originally thought would be a straightforward swop has involved the need for longer studs being fitted to take the thick wheel centres, spacers to push the wheels out as the offset is different to the Morgan wheels and 195/65/15 Vredestein Sportrac 5 tyres. Fingers crossed for tomorrow when I can at long last get the car up to it’s new home in Cumbria 🙂

Looking forward to seeing the pics! Smoothly? Ha. Jumped in the car to get it out of the garage looking forward to a glorious drive down to Williams........battery as dead as dead. Inspite of being hooked up to my Ctec charger. 😟. That may be buggered......the green fully charged light and orange charging lights were flickering. Not seen that before. And before anyone asks....yes, I’ve checked the terminals for tightness.

That doesn't show up on the error codes that I can see for CTEK.

I have had the same indications with my C-TEK in the past when I was using the cigarette lighter socket as the means of input. It was simply a poor connection. Wiggling the plug around the lights returned to normal. So guess that when the lights are flashing, insufficient charge is going in. Having said that, your battery can’t be too healthy anyway unless it’s been idle for a few weeks?

It’s been idle but with the Ctec connected. All the connections are tight so I guess there’s a problem with the charger.

The Molex connector as used by Ctek are not really designed for regular plug/unplug. I quite regularly have to give the female pins (as on the lead from the charger) a squeeze (oo'er) to make sure there is decent connection with the male pins in the connector from the battery. There are much better connectors available - there should be a small article on Morganatica after I gave Tim the info on superior connectors.
J, the symptoms you give are for a poor / non existent connection (or totally defunct battery). After all the delays with the wheels, this must be particularly annoying.

Hope you managed to get Nero down to Williams? Are the wheels now fitted? If so please! As for chargers; I am a great fan of Optimate products. Mine is mounted on the garage wall and I have their fused connectors fitted to the 4/4 and my m/bike. With Optimate's extension lead, I can reach both. Also, I can run the lead under the garage door, if one of the tin-tops batteries need a top-up.

Sadly Nero sits in disgrace in the garage whilst I am 160 miles north. 😟. By the time I sourced a new battery and got the old one out ( the new five link suspension makes it slightly less accessible ) I ran out of time to get it down to Williams. Now booked in a couple of weeks time.....so fingers crossed!!
I’ve an Optimate up here for the motorbike.....not a bad alternative.
