The only engine with more power was, as mentioned, the GTN, which had the 4.6is engine, tuned by Alpina. The S2 had the same engine as the S1

SImon the S1 and S2 had different engines ?

S1 was 286bhp variant without variable valve timing.
S2 was 330bhp (same for S3) with inlet VVT as I understand.

Happy to be corrected ?

You are right Alistair!

That was a mistake on my part - trying to multitask and needing coffee!

In fairness, in spite of the addition of variable valve timing as mentioned above, the actual bhp figures seemed to vary from engine to engine - some of the claimed 286 performing better than the claimed 330.

I have had an exhaust fitted and it did make a difference. However the lack of space means that the exhaust need to be very precise.

I had the exhaust removed and a standard exhaust refitted due to issues the new exhaust created. Granted it was poorly done by a Morgan specialist business which I will not be using again.

Thats very disappointing to hear. I was hopping this product was going to be a successful BHP upgrade for the aero range.

My first Aero had a standard (pretty quiet) exhaust.
My current car has a librands exhaust fitted,.......not sure if it faster, but it certainly SOUNDS faster. 👍

Sounds similar to my experience with a Morgan Aero specialist. They supplied the car, new, with the exhaust installed improperly.

Richard Thorne certainly used to remap the S1 and offer other performance upgrades as I recall.

I'm almost certain that 320hp is the figure they quoted. Worth a call.
