I thought I might pen this for those who are contemplating a Roadster 3:0. and there are other owners who might want to chip in.
I have added five thousand miles and its beginning to loosen up, particularly the gearbox which was definitely clunky when I first drove it home. That journey was nearly a thousand miles and the other long journey has been through the Cevennes to Avignon and back. In torrential rain the hood remained watertight. I experienced a bit of rev hang especially before the engine had fully warmed up but it has stopped since I discovered that two of the bolts holding the MAF sensor were loose. I have worked to protect various hoses from rubbing on the bulkhead, fitted a rad fan overide on the radio blanking plate and fitted underwing protectors in aluminium. I also rerouted the air intake over the radiator to pick up cooler air and made an undertray to protect the bottom of the radiator. Keith at BHM fitted a Mulfab sump and sump guard plus brake reaction bars before I took delivery.
The car rides very well on its 205/65/15 wires and has Avo shocks all round which I have left untouched for the moment. Steering is light and well damped. Everything works and nothing has fallen off although I noticed yesterday that the screws attaching the side screen plates on the drivers side were just turning around: fixed with glue and a matchstick which now means that the sidescreen no longer rattles. It goes very well and pick up is swift especially in second. Consumption of oil is nil, and fuel averages 37mpg around town with 40 on a long run.
Is there any thing that I would change? Well , I would prefer hard wired electrics to good quality flick switches on the central dash and perhaps later, side lights. Its not a big deal though at the moment. It remains very clean in the engine bay which may be down to the undertray and the large sump guard. I like it. There is a lot of torque and driving is relaxed even at high speed. I would say to anyone who is contemplating buying one to try to get a long test drive. BHM were terrific, I must have been out a couple of hours and was hooked which is something because I loved my much modified Plus Four. Any way, I hope this helps.

Hi Meabh

Your reports are typical.

But thanks for hanging on in there - as the car compensates for all the Morgan glitches.

My Roadster has now gone to my Son - and I do miss it - "Worts and all"!

Cheers

Glad it is going well Ian.

Interested in your comments about the rev-hang. Do you think it is actually diminishing , or are you subconsciously developing tactics to drive around the issue?

I agree BHM are a bunch of good guys!

Its always interesting to get feedback on a new car after completing a few thousand miles. Great update.

For what its worth I have a 2010 3l roadster which I have owned for the last 3 years, ive made a few minor changes and am about to fit Avo,s all round just because I can.

when I acquired the car it had 7k on it now done 25 k it is driven 7 months of the year here in Dubai, no A/C no hood.

I absolutely love it, ive driven +4 which I liked, completely different to the Roadster, also the +8 which is lunacy on wheels and a 3 wheeler which I also enjoyed, tried the 3.7 Roadster when I bought mine im 6ft 3" found the wider tunnel on the 3.7 uncomfortable. I do everything on my car myself and I wouldn't change it for the world

Thanks to you all for your comments. Andy, it might be coincidence of course but there is now no rev hang. True it is there whilst the engine reaches operating temperature but not afterwards.
