He was sooo funny at the time!
Not very PC now - but then it was all ok!
I always felt that he did not realise his full potential.

Particularly when you hear the interviews and read up on how James Bowlam turned against him so suddenly never to speak to him or of him again
James obviously wanted to break entirely with being a Likely lad but to do it in a strange way is a bit odd

Very sad.
I really enjoyed the Likely Lads and thought the fall out with James Bowlam really odd and for him to refuse to allow the shows to be repeated later in life even more so.

The rift between Bolam and Rodney Bewes was due to an indiscreet remark mark by Bewes. It's a shame that James Bolam wasn't able to forgive and forget.

David Jason is a famous blocker of his own early work, DVD's of Do Not Adjust Your Set had to have all his sketches removed. For a long time an unnamed participant of Love Thy Neighbour would not agree to it being shown (possibly for the best) and Jimmy Nail blocked Auf Wiedersehen Pet for many years until he needed the money. ~iw
