Picked up my new M3W today, and by the sound of it I am getting the same banging noise on hard acceleration (plus the sort of Bevel Box whine that I thought MMC had eliminated a while ago). I will have to look at the cost of securing the Box to the chassis as suggested above.
Otherwise, it's fantastic. Welcome to the M3W fold Is it a Euro 4 spec?? It maybe stating the obvious but if it's a new car I'd talk to your dealer about the banging. Re the bevel box noise it's unlikely MMC would take any notice until you have at leat 1,000 miles on the box and it mightend up being comething you can live with.

Yes - just about the last one to be registered as Euro 3 in order to beat the SVA requirement. I'll let it bed itself in and see if the whine subsides. I have let the dealer know about other noises. Notwithstanding that, and even at these temperatures, driving it is the best antidote to old age that one could wish for.

Otherwise, it's fantastic. Banging could be belt tension. MMC have not eliminated BB whine, its luck if you get a quiet one. I doubt if rigid mounting will cure noise. My 2013 had the BB direct chassis mount & when the chassis broke it "gained" the NVH flexible mount. This only had the effect of altering the speed at which the whine was most noticable. The NVH kit is as much use as an anchor & probably weighs the same. Tim

Otherwise, it's fantastic. Congrats on getting your car. Do persist with the Banging noise. Do not accept that it s in any way how it should be - it is not. Have your dealer check the bevel drive and drain the oil to see if there is any debris inside. Broken gear mesh inside would cause this noise as the slack is taken up. It can be caused by hard acceleration the car should in theory be able to sustain this but in practice might not! A replacement Bevel Box is the way to go. That's if the belt is at the right tightness. Hope this helps and do keep us posted.

Just in case it might be helpful, you can get some clunking if you don't keep the revs up as move up the gears accelerating. Probably not the issue here, but worth checking every box.
Keep having fun!
