Gorgeous. One of the cars in my dream garage.

A chum of mine has a 1934 Speed Twenty with very similar bodywork. It was bought new by his grandfather and has never been sold or restored; it is entirely (as we say in France) "dans son jus".

There is something very seductive about this model. In the metal they seem incredibly long, low and louche, yet as the article says, they have adequate performance for keeping up with modern traffic.

Giles. Mogless in Paris.

That pulls at my heart strings in a certain way . Dad told me what he thought I should know about 39-45 not what I wanted to know and I think that was for his own sanity .
One story was as he made his way through Germany with his mates finding food was hard for both sides . Dad used his ability to win German people over and offer them food etc . On one farm a farmer put his trust in dad and showed him an underground stable with a race horse ( black ) over the top was rubbish of all sorts along with hay and pig muck heaped high . The farmer removed it every night if it was OK to exercise his horse then replace it. The farmer told dad they would take the horse and use it to pull a cart till it dropped. No need to say dad loved horses also. Funny we all say what is your first memory . I must have been about 3 and I got out of my grans and headed for the stables near dads garage and where he used to go to chat to his friends . I have this picture in my head of straw and horses legs and the trousers of his pals and dad standing . I would only be up to there knee still it was a fare walk from grans.
