Around 18m ago Dennis de Roos told me that MMC had about 200 V8 engines left with which to build Aero's and Plus 8's and that once gone there'd be no more. He reckoned they'd last into 2018. A few months ago I was told they'd all gone whereas in fact MMC were simply holding back 50 engines for the 50th Anniversary Plus 8 - and it seems 9 for the GT.

My guess would be that Bristol haven't been overwhelmed with orders for this Bristol Bullet and 50 engines have now re-appeared in the supply chain

I heard from 2 sources I'd trust that Bristol don't need any engines...

If anybody's been round the factory recently, I wonder what chassis numbers were on the Aeros at the start of the build process?
It would be interesting to know.

The GTs may of course not be 'new' cars - they might just be a neat way of using up the last few available Aero chassis, and going out in style.

Surely that’s all they are.....the last of the current Aero chassis and engines with modified body panels.

Thats exactly what they appear to be, based on the early brief given. To be special i would expect at least 430 bhp, carbon brakes, centre lock race wheels etc. Just my opinion.

They maybe the same chassis and engine but the body changes I am told reduce drag and increase downforce. But frankly they look great and I envy the lucky owners of the new GT spec cars.

Its strange the stories we hear. I was told the reverse a few month back by someone who was at the factory about someone having a panic as BMW had given MMC a stock update on engine status which suggested they didn't have enough to build the cars they had orders for then.

The same person emerged an hour or so later a little less flustered and said that BMW had found them in a warehouse and that they had more than they thought.

We'll never know the truth but I what I do know is the Pickerleigh Road produces as many cars as it does rumours.

Is that due to lack of sales or are they using something else?

Sad to see them continue a trait of the old business. (Beaufighter) I hope the skills are not wasted.

I may have miss-heard Jon Wells when he was giving his talk at the RTCC Christmas bash but it sounded like he said they had sold 300 S5 Aero's!

Who else was there that heard correctly what he said?
