Buy something mad. Its only money, you cant take it with you and your youngsters will spend it for you in a blink.

Have you thought about the Mercedes GT Convertible. Rare, awesome soundtrack, very handsome, large boot and a continent cruiser. I keep toying with the idea.

Also the Mercedes SL for less money. My wife has one and it does all the things you're looking for from the sounds of it plus nice soundtrack. We've toured Europe in it and getting out of it after a full day driving feels like you had only just stepped into it.

Sad to hear but realistic. Fun times ahead noodling through the spectrum of money converters.

Looking at the others you have I get the impression that something like a Jensen that has been rebuilt ? Some form of classic made regularly usable. Pagoda Mercedes?

I suggest a Morris Marina TC. Bags of room, bags of style, especially with the vinyl roof and foglights. A real statement car.

Yes, the AMG GT is on my list, and the early non-S coupes (which I prefer) are dropping in value very nicely. The problem, if there is one, with the SL is that when I see a guy driving one I always wonder whether it is his wife's or his boyfriend's car.

The most appealing idea so far:

But I think I have missed the boat on pricing spend
