Looks like an excellent read, not least because if you take "ending up hooning around France in a broken Maserati" and add the quote from Richard Porter, who's day job is script editor on The Grand Tour, who spent their last episode hooning around France in broken Maseratis... then this book'll be worth a read to find out what the GT mob will get up to next...  Will I do recall the TG rental car in NZ episode and getting a lot of messages from folks asking if they knew what I was up to. It was probably not a total co-incidence  Thanks for the backing, folks, the new book is almost ready

Kindle editions of both of your books are now sat on my iPad ready for tomorrow's railway journey to darkest Croydon.
It wasn't me that viewed the cordless vacuum cleaner! But I did also buy Ray Celestin's latest, "Dead Man's Blues". If it's half as good as his first, "The Axeman's Jazz", it'll be a cracker.

Now working on a third book, looking for a really creative illustrator that is 'on the same page' as me is proving difficult though! Thanks for the heads-up on Ray Celestin Tim. I hadn't heard of him, I've bought those two as well. They are absolutely brilliant, Giles. I'm sure you'll enjoy them. Great plots and characterisation, tied up with actual historical events in post-WWI New Orleans and roaring '20s Chicago. I can't wait for the next in the series, set in 1940's New York.

Yes, very good. Looking forward to the next one! Thank you. Actually there are two on the go. One will be finished late next year and involves a Bentley and a bit of law-breaking. The other is a children's book, described by someone at Penguin as "very funny but possibly sexist" which I can't finish until I have a really good illustrator on board. Thanks again for the kind comments, chaps!
