The Williams one has an end "plug" that just pulls out. It's not obvious what it is or how to open it so I don't think security is a problem.

Hey Mark,

Here is mine: the tube and caps are 50mm plastic drain pipe, brackets were self cut and custom-chromed, the buttons are from a well known swedish Mogparts supplier who also happens to sell cheap furniture and meatballs smile

At all times I carry a large blue plastic picnic umbrella (come rain or sun) - a give-away from a dutch fish-factory...

Great colour of your car Mich. For sure a bit cheaper than the Williams version.
we are cheap and just put the MMC umbrella behind the seats.

Behind the seats has been the norm, but at times lost under the other baggage. I am just looking to keep the wife appeased so that the garage stays full.

Cheers,

Mark

If it looks like it might rain, the umbrella rides behind the seats. If its raining, it rides down the passenger footwell until needed.................................

More convenient than a tube. wink

Same here. You need to be able to grab the brolly and get it up quickly if caught in heavy rain.

Then you can sit out the worst in a lay-by. Saves having to get out and put the hood up.

I was on about a faggot of twigs just incase my Midlands accent confused you as opposed to a faggot in gravy, insult away though (my Father was from Headley on the Hill and my Mother from East Boldon)

I ain't North American maybe you thought I was inferring something else?

No harm intended.

doh

Our Morgan umbrella, is an excellent bit of kit and resides behind the seats. Unfortunately it required about 1 inch chopped off the top to fit.
