I have a full bumper so dont have that option. However. I am toying with using the bumper mount brackets as ands to fir a mounting bar below bumber top height. I can them fix the badge to that, keeping it low and forward of the stone guard.As the mounting bar will be behind (ish) the bumper it opens up the options for less cosmetic material than s/s. Unless i get some s/s anyway which would finish things off better and be non corroding.
More fun than fitting a bought badge bar anyway! Applying the Yorkshire economics will also leave a good feeling!

Does anyone have any suggestions for fitting a single badge at the rear on an overrider car? I'm not a great badge fan, unlike most of the above "insignaholics" (I don't know if that's a correct term, latin for badge is insigne), but my brother kindly bought me an MSCC badge and I would like to fit it. A single badge, off centre at the rear would look OK in my view, whereas a single one at front (centre or off centre) would look a little odd. I do have a luggage rack, but not the hinged sort that can take the HoE rear bar.
Ideas?

At nearly 2500 hits on this thread I think it is about time a special gallery page was set up on the TM Site to store images of all these glorious badges. So even if those that don't like them on their cars can at least marvel at the wide ranging artwork that is out there.

I've thought about this some more. A better word would be "insignophile" - one who loves badges. It isn't recognised by Google (no results) or Wikipedia, so I can fairly claim to have invented it!
Or "insignomania" for obsession with badges - again no results. You saw it here first!
A possible name for the gallery of badges sugested by Keith?

PS I've just seen that Google has already indexed my above posting of "insignaholic", and is the only entry for this neologism. Fame at last - who knows, next the Oxford English Dictionary? The speed of Google is impressive, isn't it?!

Nigel - three options:
Use a bendy strip of metal from the over-rider mounting bolt, like my rally plaque mounting at the front. Stainless would look good and it can be shaped to be hidden behind the badge if the badge is close up to the over-rider. I'm thinking on the inside maybe.
Fix on the plastic number plate backing plate using penny washers behind the number plate and low profile bolt heads, or allen headed setscrews would probably be better. Use narrow spacers to position the badge slightly behind the plastic backing plate. This may vibrate because the plate isn't that strong.
If your luggage rack has conventional brackets behind the over-riders, have a short badge bar (two/three inches) made up with one end rounded off and the other end threaded, Drill the bracket horizontally - there should already be a small unused hole. Fix the bar with a nyloc nut and Bobs your uncle.
I'd use method three - somebody like Heart of England Morgans could probably do the mini-bar to your spec in stainless.

Welcome to the forum 1938 4-4 Some badges are avilable from MSCC http://www.mscc.uk.com/acatalog/Otherwise you'll need to watch e-bay. But beware of reproductions - some don't appear to be the best quality.
