'Tis the time of year when a young mans fancy turns to...well, driving.

Cold, wet & windy out there, so pray tell. Has anyone got any nice long Road Trip touring holidays scheduled or planned next year..?

I'm envisaging plenty of top down, empty roads and great laughs.

Anyone got anything sorted yet..?

We're looking at the North Coast 500. I'm about 50% there. Sometime in May. Probably.

I might manage the Lakes.

going to classic le mans - ferries and accommodation booked but as yet no suitable car!

quoite fancy having a look at Scotland in (say) May. Been watching the farming programs and it looks quite pretty. Wont do the NW500 though - full of camper vans and scoobies apparently.

The Memsahib and I keep talking about doing the Mille Miglia again but this time in the "C" Type.
Main points of difficulty are the weather in May in Italy, last time it poured down, the boring drive down through France and the worry about ground clearance on the ferry ramp but something will come to mind no doubt.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

This doesn’t reflect our experience of doing it, although it may well depend on timing.

A bit unfair on driving through France. Tell your SatNag to avoid motorways and the driving is great.

I'm off to the Mille Miglia. I'm looking at finding the country roads for most of the way. Yes some of the speed bumps in France are a bit OTT but I've always managed so far in the Mog.
Cheers
John
