We loved Angouleme Rallye de Charente last year so apparently we are going to do it again according to SWMBO... Well worth the drive down - fabulous driving, fabulous food, and an unbelievable reaction in France to the Morgan.
But then the Chinon event near Tours popped in the email inbox, so we might do that instead, or even as well.

Loads of motorhomes and campers do the NC500 although I believe it was conceived as a cycle touring route.
I’d like to get a trip to France in sometime in 2018. That’s if it’s possible to get the +4 over the incredibly large speed humps at the Folkestone tunnel terminal. Looked fearsome from the van earlier this year!

Loads of motorhomes and campers do the NC500 although I believe it was conceived as a cycle touring route.
I’d like to get a trip to France in sometime in 2018. That’s if it’s possible to get the +4 over the incredibly large speed humps at the Folkestone tunnel terminal. Looked fearsome from the van earlier this year! The great things about the highlands is that all the roads are fantastic, so if all the grackles are following each other round the NC500 route that leaves all the others nice and empty for the rest of us to enjoy. Don't worry about the humps at Folkestone, I take my 4/4 to France every year, I use the tunnel and I've never had a problem.

Though I think they are rubber topped so should not do any damage plus they also vary in height as they get worn away and replaced. I may change my view after the MM trip.  I've also found the Portsmouth to St Malo & Caen ferries OK. Cheers John

april/may (check snow): good june and september: perfect october: we had a bit too much rain sometimes single lane, but I can assure you, even the 4th day you will still be surprised by the beauty of nature, I drove it twice and cruised it (with GF) last octobre, some of the best days in a car!!!

Anyone got anything sorted yet..?
Le Mans Classic for us, then a few extra days in France before returning to the UK. This will be Stanley's 13th visit to either France or Northern Spain. Brittany Ferries, as usual. This means a nice dinner, a decent sleep and then the leisurely drive through Brittany, with stops for coffee and lunch on the way to Le Mans.

I have a small booklet from the 1980s printed by the late Pat Kennett ( was chairman when you where in nappies ) it has a few runs in the lakes from smooth to medium then need new arms and mog ones. If anyone is doing one and wants a copy give me a shout . Or may come over depends what we have on at the time.  Do you fancy the Lake District and Carlisle ? Say April/May ?

The Memsahib and I keep talking about doing the Mille Miglia again but this time in the "C" Type.
Main points of difficulty are the weather in May in Italy, last time it poured down, the boring drive down through France and the worry about ground clearance on the ferry ramp but something will come to mind no doubt. For Gods sake, man..!!! DO IT..! I'd do it in underpants if I had to...what an opportunity...
