Ok I know it’s christmas time so no funny comments.

I changed my water pump and put it all back together and slowly over a month I have a jingling sound that drives me nuts.
It’s most prominent at idle running.
I bent back my tips of the fan blades I have gone over it back and front, no loose bolts, I have a enlarged radiator with a electric fan on it due to the hot climate I live in, (Caribbean),I have checked all possible areas of contact, pulley to bolts etc none touching.
I have not managed to determine if it’s the lower pulley or wa,ter pump one, but it’s driving me nuts trying to find it.
Driving it’s hardly noticeable so my only next option is to take the whole front off again back to even removing the radiator trying to track it down.

Before that.........

Any comments of the obviously stupid that I have looked over.????

If you can’t see anything as you say (you don’t say what car model and engine so this does not apply to Duratecs etc) but if your water pump is fan belt driven take the belt off and start the car as it won’t hurt for a few min. Has the noise gone? If so it’s in the water pump or alternator area ( also it’s not unknown for the he cooling fan on the alternator to get one blade bent and touch where it can’t be seen). At least this way you narrow the search area.

If it's a CVH engine, check the heat shield on the alternator, It can be easily bent and will then ring against the air impeller vanes on the alternator spindle.

1967 plus 4 with a TR4 engine.

Ok I believe it’s the pulley on the water pump just knocking on the pump itself and with the metal blades of the fan it’s like a damn bell.
Now the solution is to take the whole thing apart again and see if I can put a washer in between the pulley and housing plus change the metal fan to plastic.

Comments are again welcome, as I really wanted to avoid taking the whole front and radiator off again, but it is what it is.

The TR water pump is big hefty casting, and if the pulley is hitting this it is probably indicative of worn bearings.

If you can do a temporary fix wish a couple of washers on the pump then great , but before doing any significant mileage I would be inclined to take the pump off , and get new bearings and seals installed in it.

If the noise proves not to come from this area , then check the fan on the front of the dynamo, or indeed check all the mounting bolts that secure the dynamo. The front lower mount in particular tends to strip threads, allowing the dynamo to move out of alignment.

Unless you are a sticky for originality an electric fan behind the grille works well with these engines

Fan blades? There shouldn't be a fan on a TR4 engined Morgan unless somebody has added one? The Triumph TR range had a fan driven from the crankshaft but for a Morgan application it would foul the cross head.

I'd agree with Andy G it it may be the water pump bearing and seals. If so, I'd advise fitting an uprated water pump, the latest have more vanes on the impeller and are supposed to move the move the water round quicker!

Careful use of a large (18" plus) nylon handled pry bar as a listening stick should help eliminate worn bearings in either water pump or dynamo - they do give off a pretty distinctive sound when worn!
