As a slight aside, I have a question.
You are all talking about using oils with friction modifiers in the BTR axles because of the LSD.
Surely not all BTR's have LSD's. I can't imagine there is a limited slip diff in my BTR axle 4/4.
Which cars have limited slip diff BTR axles?

Which cars have limited slip diff BTR axles? As standard, the BTR axles for the 4/4 and Plus 4 are not LSDs. You can have it as an option on the Plus 4 although I believe a small number were fitted as standard a coup,e of years ago. The Roadsters have LSDs as standard.

Jays is quite right alhough being Morgan there is no clarity.
My Roadster has a tag on the filler confirming lsd.
In 2012 Bumble had an lsd but no tag. 2016 Plus 4 has lsd. It was not extra cost.
The only way to check is to Jack the rear and spin the wheels.

Mine has a tag on the filler as well -- I think the issue was that MMC used whatever axle happened to be in stock - thankfully when building mine, it was an LSD!!!!!!

The only way to check is to Jack the rear and spin the wheels. Put the car in neutral, handbrake off, chock the front wheels, use axle stands at the back or at the most jack the car until the back wheels are only just clear of the ground. Turn a wheel in either direction. If the wheel on the other side goes in the same direction the diff is an LSD. If it goes in the opposite direction it is a normal diff.

Checked it, as expected not LSD so when I finally get all my planned horsepower I guess I'll just have to put up with spinning my inside wheel. Thanks for the guidance.

I see there is some advise about oils for the BTR axle but....... I developed a sort of moan or groaning noise when making very tight turns so I changed the oil for Valvoline
75w-140 synthetic for LSD. Which shouldn’t need any friction modifier added but the noise continues, what oils are other BTR owners using ?
Thanks Dave Dave I work for Larry Eckler at Morgan Motors of New England. Larry also uses a friction modifier made by GM in conjuction with the rear end fluid. He says this is a must with a BTR rear axle.

Good advice. Thats exactly what I found. It needs just a bit more friction modifier even when the oil has it included.
