Gents, I'm new to Morgan, I have bought a 2013 M3W (its covered 3600 miles only), and perhaps i'm a bit green on this stuff. Is their a Morgan register we can access to assure myself of what mods/recalls etc. have been completed on my car? The dealer tells me it is all up to date with this, but I have no paperwork to back up Centra Drive or chassis upgrade! I should be OK as I have some warranty, Any advice would be appreciated, Regards, Totty.

This was issued by MMC in November 2013
PRESS RELEASE 20.11.13
Morgan 3 Wheeler Ltd. are delighted to announce the world premiere of the updated 2014 model at Motorcycle Live on 23 November 2013.
Since its introduction in 2011, 1000 vehicles have been delivered to thrilled customers, ensuring iconic status of this unique vehicle.
The Morgan policy of continuous improvement has led to a comprehensive review of the vehicle's characteristics, resulting in some important updates –
• Chassis - latest development increases torsional stiffness and improves handling • Centre Drive Unit – increased durability and smoother power delivery • Bevel box – isolated to improve overall noise vibration harshness (NVH) • Steering – engineered to satisfy a broader range of markets internationally, eliminating bump steer and increasing high speed stability • Urban Cooling Pack – provides cool air to the engine in urban driving conditions • Styling – comprehensive new graphics list, colour combinations and vented body work • UK finance deals – low rate packages now available • '30/30' Warranty – extended 30 months or 30,000 miles, terms and conditions apply
If the vehicle does not come with a full service history with invoices the dealer should be able to obtain confirmation from MMC or from the dealer who did the upgrade work.[font:Times New Roman][/font]

I have a 2013 M3W and the only formal recall has been for a redesigned bolt in chassis brace replacing the original bolted in horizontal brace with one which is both horizontal and triangulated back to the main chassis member just behind the front of the body work.
Other factory recommended FOC mods done at the services have been improved earth bonding of the rectifier and spacer washers under the cam belt cover for improved cooling of the cam belt.
Other modifications which had to be paid for are: Comfort kit which raised the steering arms to horizontal to decrease bump steer. Engine cooling, electric fan behind engine to aid cooling in stop start traffic. NVH kit to reduce bevel box noise (it's actually very ineffective possibly only changing the speed at when it occurs) Centa compensator to replace the original design. Steel rear sprocket the original Aluminium version wears very rapidly.

Morgan do not seem to be very good at noting major modifications in the service documentation. I had to get a letter from them to confirm that my car had a chassis change. That's quite a big thing I would say but they didn't consider it worth noting, unlike an oil change. The only real way to confirm what your car has is a physical check using the lists above, they cover all the big things. You may have to do a bit of research on TM to find out what you are looking for to confirm what has been done.

Thanks, I am pretty certain it is up to date, we can see the updated steering rack mod and the cooling fan, it also has the rear mudguard fitted, a shame they don't have an accessible record of everything.

Thanks Rog, I will get on top of it, we have a pile of previous bills, and the car has a stamp in the book for every years service.

I got my dealer to record all mods like steering comfort kit & steel drive sprocket in the back of the handbook notes & amendments section. That does not help you but I wonder why this was not done as its important info. If these were paid for there should be invoices. You would have thought that if the dealer was paying before sale they would have documentation. MMC are not a 'normal' car company.
