Having read the thread on Morgan quality I consider myself lucky with only around ten problems on my late 2013 4/4. I don’t count the chap that t-boned me in that number, or the issues falling out of that. Of course I still love the Morgan experience- I can’t help it!

My speedo/odo has failed however. The LCD still lights up, but no digits are visible.

Can someone kindly suggest where I start please?

Many thanks for the help I know will be forthcoming and compliments of the season to all.

Hmm. Kind of the opposite of how my dash failed. Quick questions just to check... does the speedo needle still work? Do the heated screen, hazards, and rear fog switches glow when off as per normal? Does the heater fan work still?

I'd check all fuses in the first instance... and not just the ones suggested in the handbook :-)

Cheers
Nick

The fuse that is for the speedo also controls the heater fan and some of the warning lights. If the heater fan is not working you could try the fuse. If that is the problem and it blows again you may have a faulty circuit board.

If it turns out that you have a faulty speedo you will need to send it to Caerbont Automotive Instruments Ltd

Probably a dry joint on the LCD module itself

Had the same thing happen on my 2011 4/4sport. Turned out it was the wires running under the seat (seatbelt light) got cut when adjusting the seat and shorted out the speedometer

The display sometimes disappears in damp weather or storage. Run the car with the heater on full for awhile or use a warm hair dryer under the dash. Worth a try!

Ah! I forgot about that. It happened to Raphael (atalante83) in France with his 4/4 Anniversary. The wire had rubbed through the insulation where it entered the transmission tunnel.

Me too ('12 4/4) chafed wire from seatbelt telltale shorted on seat rail and blew fuse - circuit shared with speedometer.

For a speedy exit, no doubt.
