Took my 2015 M3W for a short coffee sortie. When I returned I noted a 10 foot line of what appears to be hydraulic fluid on the floor. (It ate the paint on the shop floor and stained it).
I have placed the car on jacks, and looked everywhere for the leak (i.e.: master cylinders on the brakes and clutch, as well as all the hydraulic lines to the brakes and transmission bell housing. The hydraulic fluid reservoir is full. NO obvious area of leaks were noted, but I am suspecting the clutch to be the problem, as the leak came from the central area of the car.
I was somewhat dumbfounded at the throwout mechanism for the clutch, as the orifice where the slave cylinder would normally be (on the left lower side), is plugged with a rubber boot, and the hydraulic line penetrates the bell housing via a fitting through the top. Is this a Morgan thing or a Mazda thing? I am cringing at the thought of having to disassemble the engine/transmission just to fix the throw-out slave cylinder for the clutch.
Any assistance from those knowledgeable in this matter is greatly appreciated.

TN

Correction: The place where one would expect the throw-out arm to be has the proper rubber boot, but no actual arm projecting from the bell housing. There is no slave cylinder bolted on to the housing, leading me to believe that Morgan placed the whole clutch release mechanism inside the bell housing.

All: I have just done a thread search, and my questions are answered. What I have is a concentric hydraulic throwout bearing. I will be observing it for further leakage, and fear the need to do an engine pull if the part is faulty.

Thank you, regardless.

You are right, it is an engine out job to replace it. It is a Volvo item as well, try part number 8675052, although I cannot say this is definitely the correct item.
