Only thing to watch is that until the pressures do raise the road height is a touch lower so that shiny sump is (more) at risk.

On the MB I have the tyre pressure monitor. I set 36psi generally. On a cold morning it does drop and often shows 33 on a cold morning as I set off. If I am carrying stuff and pushing on they can show up to 38.

Alistair, the continual monitoring on the Mercedes is probably the most relevant overall picture. Most manuals say check tyres when cold so i guess the increase in pressure when working is factored in when manufacturers suggest a tyre pressure.

Of more concern than a couple of psi reduction in cold weather, is how much harder the rubber of an older tyre becomes.
I changed my 6 year old tyres in the late Autumn.
They still were comfortably legal on tread depth, but the improvement in grip of the new (same make) tyre was remarkable, especially on cold roads.
I hadn’t realised how much the grip of the old tyres had declined, until I replaced them.

Does your display show psi? I wish ours did.
It shows kPa, which I find unhelpful as a change of 10 kPa is only 1.45 psi.
Do you know how to change the units displayed?

I would guess there is something buried in the furthest right settings column as this allows me to set the kmh for the second speedo tell tale.

On my Mustang you can set the heater & ambient temp to Celsius or Fahrenheit & tyre pressures to kPa or psi. On a couple of occasions
when the battery has been low they have defaulted back to Fahrenheit & kPa. Being an American car I would have expected tyre pressure to go to psi.
You cannot use the tyre pressure indication to check when you pump your tyres as it does not update till you have driven a short way.

No! Never!. Using units named after a Frog! What's wrong with good British Imperial units like psi and pints and miles and feet? These SI units were no doubt the result of expenses paid international gravy train meetings in exotic and dirty places like Paris for example.

I remember the SI system coming when in the Grammar School we used it for all science subjects.
I didn’t find it odd at all and it made sense to standardise.
These days I flit between Imperial and metric with no real issues. We used a mixture of both in the steelworks I worked in, for bar sizes etc.Hand for the Morgan with it’s “natural variation” .
