I do put my car away wet. For two reasons;

1. It's a Morgan, and given that it's usually wet when it's been raining (obviously!!) chances are it's still raining when I get home! In my experience the sure way to find out if your Morgan leaks is to leave it stood in the rain as opposed to moving.

2. As you will see from my photo's on page 1, I have a Cair O Port/Air Chamber. This is pretty effective at drying the car off. I open a vent at the rear to allow air to flow out to prevent condensation and the garage is dehumidified.

With my old S3 I used an Air Chamber and the S5 is in a Cair O Port. The Cair O Port is by far the superior product, far less flimsy and the frame is outside of the tent unlike the Air Chamber. The Cair O Port uses steel tubes like an old fashioned tent whereas the Air Chamber uses plastic rods that break very easily. The fans on the Cair O Port are again far superior to an Air Chamber and there are three as opposed to two of them blowing air onto/around the car.

These car tents also act as dust covers but without touching the car which if you want to keep the paintwork looking pristine, is a must unless you completely clean your car of any "foreign bodies" before putting on a cover.

I bought the Cair O Port far larger than the car required so I can do work inside it, albeit I would not do work that may damage the tent.

I also keep my car permanently attached to a battery reconditioner via the cigarette input. I did the same with the S3 and never had battery or starting issues. This can be fed through the Velcro seals on the Cair O Port.

Hamilton Classic supply the Cair O Port if anyone is interested.

It might seem overkill to some, I don't do anything like for the SL or F Type. The S5 is not a garage queen. I take it out in all seasons rain or shine. I'm just doing what I can to look after it. For the record, I don't have shares on Cair O Port !! :-)

Interesting post Rob
I’ve just looked at the Cair O ports on line
Very interesting and not rediculous money either

Interesting products - the outdoor unit could be good for someone without a garage.
