I couldn’t work out why MMC felt the need to change and I am glad that my 4/4 carries the older design.

I'll stick my neck out and suggest that it would have been a business decision to ensure the safekeeping of intellectual property rights and copyright etc. A new design would be easier to 'police' although the new design badges and names were clearly on sale at a traders stall in Portugal a year or so ago..!

Mind you, with the exchange rate it was almost Morgan prices anyway..

Have to say I've no strong feelings either way on the badge design, other than ensuring the paint stays on. The new design means that end of the pin badges are like needles, though..!!!

Thank your for your opinions. I'm planning to write something about the many aspects of the 'brand' in the Club magazine and wondered if was just me that thought (property rights apart) they lost the style, character and uniqueness of the original.

Ps. I do like JTL's suggestion that the the new one looks like a moustache!

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Tarka has 2 "modern" badges.
One has a black background, the other has a dark blue background.
Does MMC really know what the colour should be?

FWIW, I prefer the new version.

Comment has been made about the similarity with the BMW MINI badge, but taje a look at the modern Bentley Badge...

Another take on the "wings".

I have reached an age where any change seems unwelcome and maybe am unwittingly nostalgic. Just seems to me that the curvy badge that I grew up with is most reminiscent of the curves on a Morgan. Kind of like comparing Marilyn Monroe and Kate Moss. Both have their appeal, but only one is instantly recognizable from any angle, with the possibility of remaining so forever. Again, this may be due to my own affection for symbols of my youth.
