After humming and harring over whether I should get a 4/4, a plus four, or whatever,Ive just bought a 08 deep red plus four, with 1500 miles on the clock. The money was scary, but I felt that if I didnt get just what I wanted, that I'd always look at it as a 'compromise'.....picking it up next friday!!!! :

It sounds as if you've made an excellent choice.I know that when I ask the guys at my garage which they prefer ( 4/4 or +4) the latter always comes out the winner. I've only driven a couple but there is no doubt that the extra torque is VERY handy Cheers, G

Salut You have made the right choice ....4/4 is underpowered....Roadster is thirsty rather harsh and not very nimble...Plus Four is just right. Incidently we are stopping with a chum near Gordes in Provence .Temp today 38 C .....his very fancy Porsche has selected two gears at once and has departed on the back of a truck!

Worried at first that I should have got a Roadster, rather than +4 - never regretted not buying the old 4/4.
But soon came to realise that it has quite enough power, without getting me into trouble. The bigger engine would have resulted in even more 'Mr. Toad' like antics. Easier on the pocket, as well.
And don't worry about the extra cost, I was told that 'the extra money stays in the car'.

ah, yes- 'Mr Toad'..............he was just what I was visualising when I took the +4 out for a test drive;my right foot seemed to have a will of its own,and I had to keep telling it that there was another car in front(my passenger was saying the same, oddy enough!).When I mentioned that I was a little bothered about the cost of the car, he replied "you should try telling your face that")damn- its a long time to next friday!

Enjoy the car and look after the investment 'Toadie' here gets his pleasure going up steep straight hills

I can't find it in my heart to agree with that- but, hey, that's one of the good things about this forum, people can have their views, express them and- subject only to the laws of good manners- agree to differ. Long may that continue regards, G
