I served my time at Linwood as a draughtsman. I'd love a convertible Hillman Minx MkIII. Not that they made them at Linwood.

Not to my knowledge. It was an independent company the also had a plant next to Morris in Cowely (Oxford). Towards the end of my apprenticeship it amalgamated with Fisher Bodies to become Pressed Steel Fisher. It is now part of BMW with the plant still in Swindon making panels for the Mini.

Just re-read Classic Monthly and it was British Light Steel Pressings. Incidentally, they also owned Thrupp and Maberly
