Hello all,
I am a new member from the U.S. (Iowa). Glad to share the passion with other M3W owners! I am planning a very special road trip this summer: All 48 contiguous states over the 3 months of summer (I'm a college professor and coach with the summer off). I will be doing it in a new 2017 M3W. Yes, I know. Crazy! But I love the challenge and have made very long trips before on motorcycles. Currently in the planning phase. Students are helping me determine the route through a computer algorithm. The criteria are: 2 lanes only, no big cities, stop at landmarks, national parks, and unique and interesting places. I will be writing a book about the trip and will have a blog site with daily updates and pictures.

A Question for 3W owners: I will have extra tubes and an extra regulator and battery with me. I am wondering about what tools I should have, and what extra fasteners, bolts, etc. I should have with me (just in case vibration wins).

Many thanks, and I'm glad to be aboard
Will

Sounds like a great trip. I did all 50 in 2005 on a 2 wheeler!

I am back in July to do another cross country trip on 2 wheels again.

Good luck with the trip.

I'm in the Washington DC Morgan Car Club, and we often host Morgans Across America when they are in the area. Is anyone from the DC area already signed up yet? If not, please post information here or email Ed Zielinski editor of the MCCDC Rough Rider at edmund.zielinski@yahoo.com. It would help if you cc me themacmog@aol.com since my wife is an officer in the club and we could get this on our agenda asap.

Coach Will that sounds like a very special trip and the planning and plotting is certainly an element to be savoured. The more adventures you do, the more you will want to do. Looking forward to the blog and the book. I have a couple of big trips planned - one in the Mog and another in the Auster and planning every detail helps me get from here to there: That is, from miserable grey central European weather to blue skies and open roads.

Thanks, Pat!
Is there anything planned this summer for Morgans Across America? Do you know of any other Morgan shows or get togethers I might want to steer toward this summer?
Thanks!

Morgans over America runs on a 3 to 5 year cycle, and their latest run was in 2015. It would be a little early for them to try a run this year and no one has contacted us yet. Also, they prefer fall weather, and last time they ran from very early October to early November. (Not a slack time for a professor.) I don't know if you've seen the blog Steve Roarke kept of the event: http://morgansoveramericavi.blogspot.com/2015/10/

MCCDC is planning a three-day event in Williamsburg June 22-24, but the details are still being finalized. This seems a little early for your group, but we will also have at least one July event tbd.
