Can anybody tell me if they know of anyone who can supply more sensible gear ratios for my Mark 2 roadster with the MT 75 gearbox. There seems to be plenty supplying ratios for the Mark 9 gearbox. Thank you gentlemen

When I looked into the MT75 gearbox, it turned out to have a selection of ratios (except 4th which is 1:1).
It might also need a replacement laygear witb different ratios.
A transmission specialist should know.
I understand that the MX5 gearbox could be used as a substitute.

Hi Dave
Thanks for the info. I really want to keep the original box and just get some more sensible ratios if I can

I reckon the torque from the roadster is a bit too high for reliability using the MX5 Mk3 5 speed box.
The latest Mk4 MX5 form Mid 2015 gearbox is on it's 4th iteration and still having a few gearbox failures
