I've booked too so let's go firm on Hotel Le Grand in Valenciennes and then an en-route stop in Lille on Fri.

Chris - looking at the route down is it not better to catch an earlier train to get a bit of a jump on the journey?

Chris - looking at the route down is it not better to catch an earlier train to get a bit of a jump on the journey?
Everything else is booked I'm happy with an earlier train - maybe the 09:20 or 09:36, however that may be a bit tight for anyone not overnighting near the Chunnel. What do the rest of you guy's think?

We’ll overnight near the Chunnel so can do either of the earlier options. If others are overnighting too, we’ll book into the same place.

We’re in the premier overnight & I totally understand a later train if someone’s travelling & can’t make the earlier Chunnel offering - We can fuel up overnight prior to the train or there’s a fuel station (Stop24) just before the tunnel be it on the other side of the motorway.
There’s also one just off the train in Calais be it it takes you off the road you want to be on.
As we have to add on 1hr the other side, any time saving we can make will be worthwhile
