The inner circle ? am I reading into this wrong? to me the inner circle is a group of people within a larger group who have a lot of power, influence, or special information ?

Craig,
here is the full explanation of those codes.

It’s looks like I’m about 250 posts a year and even then, I don’t feel I belong and I’m on here too much.
If I ever reach 10,000 posts, wheel me to the vets and put me down!

Offence seems to be caused only in non-Morgan topics. I think maybe moderators should look more at these forums. Some posts have been racist , homophobic or misogynist. Of course this assumes the hard working unpaid moderators have time . Do we need forums that allow people to post deliberately provocative posts. There are a lot of nice people on here who don’t argue with posts they probably disagree with. I’ve been irked by some but posting about the laziness of young people I couldn’t ignore . Surely mechanical /Morgan / car/ aeroplane / engineering and meets are not controversial .?
I’m now assuming someone will be offended by this post in which case TM probably isn’t the place for me either .

Instead of just stating words like homophobic why don't you give examples. I posted that young peopleneed to get off their arse and vote if they wanted change for example and I stand by that and voting figure demographics back this up. If you don't like the word I'll gladly substitute backside. The manings the same.

A good thing is the ignore funktion on this forum.
A bad thing is the need to use it.🌈

I always think of forums as somewhere akin to a virtual pub.... go in for a chat, never know where it goes. Sometimes the conversation can get fractious but most of the time it's simply a good group of people who enjoy an of exchange views. I have met a few of the regulars and a couple have become good friends - how it should be.

If forums become a sanitised eulogy to a marque, or restricted to discussions of types of suspension - I think they would lose their appeal.

Talk Morgan is a very gentle group compared to many forums! Yes, there have been some risible points of view expressed over the years, but overall it's pretty tame. Largely because it's mostly 50+ people who are fairly worldly wise and don't deliberately set out to offend.

I wholeheartedly agree. This forum is a pleasant place compared to many others - I have yet to read any real agression in a post and there are no trolls. And yes I include myself in that last comment because I know what my posting motive is, and it most certainly is not to wind people up, whatever Jays might think.

The level of activity in the purely car related parts of the forum varies from very little to not a huge amount more. Were it to be made a cars only forum, then I suspect it would die. Posters come here to chew the cud and the forum statistics reflect that.

I have almost completely avoided "the soap box" in an effort to avoid argument and disagreement. IMO this particular topic should really have been in the Soap Box since it was only ever likely to raise strong reactions.

But what is done is done. Time to quieten down the level of debate and reflect a bit. Meantime, come back Jays.

Remember, everyone's entitled to their opinions, but it's important to focus on constructive and supportive interactions.
