For many reasons, I’m pretty much tee-total nowadays, but a while back I had a tour of the Brewdog factory with some friends, during which, I tried all the beers and decided I particularly like one named “dogma.”

On a whim, I suddenly decided today, I’d like another bottle, to my dismay, it’s no longer made. I spotted this in the factory shop and asked if it was similar, “ oh, it’s very expensive “ was the reply, “ good, I’ll take it!” Was my response.
£13 and so strong, my head was spinning before it was halfway,, but very lovely indeed,
Described as, coffee and brown sugar, Baltic Porter.

The factory is on my doorstep and I have great admiration for the two young founders, they have built a business reputedly valued at £1 billion in a short space of time.

Nice beer...nice company...my son has shares in the company and he gets sent prototype beers for us to try !!!!.

Yep, just checked the strength...12%,one is more than enough for me.

The shares are very popular locally, they throw a huge party at the AGM with top bands and entertainment, all shareholders are welcome.

Sadly the Tactical Nuclear Penguin (32%ABV) is now discontinued !!

I made a decent amout of money out of fevertree - I wonder if this one will follow suit. On first impressions, there seems to be a lot of BS about, but then since there are zillions of small micro breweries,maybe BS is whats needed to rise above the pack.

Question is - is it a business or is it two lads with a gift for publicity flogging homebrew? We have spectacular growth. Will there be a spectacular pop.

I remember discovering Adnams Tally Ho which is about 9%ABV. We were staying in Southwold and I had a pint to ‘finish the night off’. I’ve never been a big drinker so had only had three pints of normal strength ale before that. It certainly had a strange effect on my legs on the way back to the hotel!

As for Brewdog, I think the beer’s good but no better than many other small breweries so I can only conclude it’s all about marketing.

Phew! Good news indeed. I had a bottle and it was yuck even when diluted. Strong doesn’t always mean good.
There are several nice beers in their range though. sospan jnr sends me some as presents.

I used to drink cider. I never understood why there werent special ciders made from one type of apples like wines from one type of grape. The taste of real local cider is quite distinctive compared to the likes of Strongbow.

During my rugby playing days the ream treated me to a birthday drink.
