Well modelling is definitely a winter exercise. I have been building this engine over the last couple of years. It actually started about ten years ago, but partial retirement has given me more modelling time.

It is completely hand made apart from the motor and gearbox. Should be finished very soon and then into the paint shops, hopefully before the Morgan and Traction Engine season starts.

The first video shows the engine, “Lord President”, on a friend’s test track. The second one shows it at work on our club layout.

That looks fantastic, and especially so as it's unpainted . A real ornament in that finish

The Delorean by far.....

And funny you should ask.

I took the “D” to the regional Australia Day Car show and boy did it pull a crowed.

Sorry, I did have the MOG on parade at the last Club run so it was not her turn.

After a hot strenuous morning of public interface – Yes it is a real Delorean, No it’s not aluminium its stainless steel and no, I can’t go back to the future and it doesn’t have a flux capacitor – I decided to head off.

I proceeded on a steady drive but noticed a police car four vehicles behind me which is amazing given its hard to see much out the back of a Delorean. By the time I got through town and close to home the police car was right behind me. A quick flash of his lights had me to the side of the road and I’m thinking what has he got me for?

I’ve popped my door to be greeted by a young male constable of rather stern demeanour.

Good afternoon Sir, I think I just clocked you at 88 MPR !!! he said breaking into a wry smile.

Well for the next 10 minutes he questioned me on every aspect of the car and its history. He turned out to be a very friendly chap who is mad keen on cars and was stunned to see a Delorean in the flesh. Finally he got back to business and administered a quick breath test, didn’t check my licence then bid me good day.

I have had a similar incident of sorts with the MOG.

I attended the 2013 Top Gear Festival Australia at Sydney Motor Sport Park and invited Jeremy Clarkson to join the Morgan display for afternoon tea. His staff politely declined the invitation but he did sent the Top Gear Cops around.

Oh thank you Mr Clarkson.........

ps – the attached photo was taken all in good fun and with respect. I trust it causes no offence here given some recent commentary on this forum.

That is just beautiful, a lovely thing. I'd be tempted to leave it in the metal and display it as an art object.

Well done.

Wow top work!
If at all possible and in line with your vision I too would leave it unpainted.

Tim, that is stunning...
Is if 0 gauge?
Will she be turned out in full LNER colours, as built?
I look forward to seeing the pictures!

At least you got her finished before 2007!!!
