Among the biker community this engine is a clear bitch to start when it's hot or very cold. When it's hot the compression is a killer. When it's cold the oil is the consistency of honey. Neither are good.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Don’t pump the throttle before starting from cold! Simply turn the ignition on let the pump stop buzzing and let the lights go out, say 10 seconds, should start instantly even if the battery is slightly down. However mine is always a bit reluctant to start when hot but does eventually 🤔

It's been several weeks since I changed the engine oil to 10w40 100% synthesis, the cold start and operation is facilitated by temperatures under 10 ° C.

Did it happen after filing up with gas? If you fill to the brim it can cause starting and cutting out for a few miles.

Good point. I am usually careful about this, but then every pump dispenser nozzle can vary on shut off point.

I handle it the same way.
