I seem to remember a bit of a fuss over the E-types made using the 6 chassis plates that were not used in the original build. Didn't Lord March state that he didn't consider the cars to be true originals and bar them despite their using already set up chassis numbers?
It certainly seemed to be a good promo/money-spinner for Jag.
OK....the continuation 6 don't have the provenance of the originals but a nice use of the cut short original build plan as they were still an in-house build.

The C Types weren't bad either and neither were the XK120's wink

To recreate some of the classic Ferraris would be extremely expensive given the specialised nature of most of the components, including the engines.

Jaguar had the advantage of sharing more items with the road-going cars which were relatively mass-produced.
