Thanks for all the positive responses. I originally posted this in June 17. I reposted because of someone else's post about a Cover.
This response reinforces my idea that we should have a dedicated Forum for Modifications and Inventions so team members get better visibility of each others innovation. I have contacted Simon

A simple budget option (I did use this in real life in my M3W. Works fine!)

Hannes How do you fix the hook to the tonneau cover? Have you sewn a loop to the underside?

Under tension the hooks hold without loops. I simply „hooked“ them to the edge of the cover. The hooks must have the little plastic tops not to perforate the cover. I used this setup once to prevent flattering and it worked well. The bottom counterpart was luggage on the seat.

My seat belt solution does not work on the M3W because the seat belt fasteners on on the outboard of the seats. I thought for £9 my solution was "budget"! A fastener at 99p from china makes it £7. Each to their own.Plus you cannot open a bottle with a bungee!! - unless you can tell me different?
