If anyone is interested I see this is listed on eBay.

Certainly ties in with the information that I have that this is indeed the 'Prototype' car but appears to be finished off to match the production cars.

This car indeed is the prototype Le Mans 62, which appeared in many publications and also in the Factory brochure. You can see a picture of it on my site http://morganhistoryinfo.services.officelive.com in the page for +8 Specials, taken on the day it was introduced to the Morgan dealers.

I would say it could be in the region of £33 - £36k, but I wouldn't bid that much without an inspection first.

Is it me or does it have a door handle on the drivers side and not on the passengers???

Standard spec. (no chance of options either!) was only one door handle on the driver's side.

I would expect it to go for more than that. The 4/4 versions have recently gone for around £28K and Berrybrook has one for £30K at the moment.

We will see..

Mog prices are going up!

Having expressed an interest in acquiring a 4-seater I see there are several in this month's Miscellany... Madame's ears picked up when I mentioned them (thoughts of carrying grandkids in the back I think!).
Anyone want a Boxster S grin2?
SWMBO might kill me if I sold that so soon - she loves it.
And we're staying with 3 cars, maximum laugh2

Cheers,

Even if I don't have the knowledge of the future I believe that the price will increase a lot in the last 10 seconds of the sale.
I would go more to 50-60 KGBP ...
3000 miles is really few and I suspect that this car wasn't drove when it was bought !!!
It is like new and with all original specs, a real collectable.

If you have the money , spend it and enjoy every moment of you spoils.

So rare and never to be repeated, what a jem.

Wish I was in the country, its only money..........sigh shades

The Le Mans 62 model was supposed to become an almost exact copy of the +4 which ran at Le Mans in 1962. For that reason it has only the door handle on the driver's side, a quick release filler cap and a hard top, to name but a few.

Yet, the single windscreen wiper was NOT copied!!
