Looking for advice on sat nav options please.

Don't want to mount on windscreen or modify Dashboard on my Supersports...any options please ?

Was there one that fitted onto center lift the dot pole on crash pad or did I dream that ?

Thanks on advance

There are a couple with long necks that allow you to mount them from other locations. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Long-Arm-Gooseneck-Car-Phone-Mount-Holder-Clip-Stand-for-Smart-Cell-Phone/201781565332?hash=item2efb1e5794:g:XWAAAOSwjRpZR2-s

For our tour I used a small mount from the very bottom edge of the windscreen. It was held with a simple double sided pad which peeled off on return.

I put a thin cheap case on the phone and the magnetic pad on the top of the case so it hung down over the dash to the left of the driver (RHD)

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I take it you don't want it on the windscreen blocking the view?

If that is the case should it not stick above the dash top at all?

You could use a clamp on the passenger glove box opening, if properly padded and protected there would be no damage to the dash surface.

You could mount an arm in the glovebox metal housing itself

You could use the tannex fastener even.

There are so many mounts out there a few hours on Amazon or Google should find something to fit the bill

I have a rod mounted mirror and the sat nav sits at the bottom of the screen just to the left of it. The standard tomtom mount is fine. Very often I use my phone and I have a cheap mount that uses rubber suckers to attach to the back of the phone; I found the clamp style mounts vibrate off but this one is fine.

I've used a suction mounting arm attached to the very smooth veneered dash in my car. The downsides I've experienced have been vibration and an insufficiently bright screen when the roof is off, both causing the display to be difficult to read at times. Usually the most inconvenient times!
Although not ideal I will, in future, try to mount the satnav in the shade under the dash.

If you buy a tax disc holder, fit a lift-the-dot fitting in the mounting hole and bend it to the same curve as your dash padding, then you will have a reasonable sat-nav mount - you will need to pad its rear surface with something to stop it marking the leather. It will fit over the tonneau cover pin in the centre of the dashboard.

It is possible to buy a mounting bracket that has the spherical element that your sat nav holder mounts on to - this when mounted onto a similar item to a bent tax disk holder eliminates the suction mount making the whole assembly a lot smaller. I cannot find one online at present to give you a link to look at - just beware the spherical element varies in size between Tom Tom and Garmin.

It might not help but I’m really pleased with this mounting for my mobile and the company do make the same arm to grip a larger sat nav

I use a simple clamp type with suction mounting on the dash, works well, cheap as chips.

Hi Kevfitz,

I made one that fits on the centre lift dot peg on the dash, (it allows the sat nav to be below the windscreen) I no longer have a Mog, I live in Leeds so if you fancy a drive out you can have it,

There's always a RAM mount - widely used with three wheelers
