rainbow; I replaced my M16 exhaust with a slash side exit among other things. Never had the problem that you described subsequently.
Don; Have you experienced more noise since the change or just a change in tone?
Nick; on mine the occasional bad eggs smell only occurs with hard acceleration.

The harder you drive it the cat gets hotter and then less fumes, remember this when its MOT time !

Not really a solution but a pal who has a +8 of exactly the same vintage as the one that I sold last year also had a problem with exhaust fumes which he resolved by extending the tail pipe.
My car (both were 1987 so single exhaust) had no such problem

Drive faster, the fumes won't be able to keep up.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

It's a result of weird turbulence because of no spare fitted I think. Just try it with the side screen windows open a couple of inches each side. Seems to interrupt the airflow direction or vacuum, but it works for me.

Kev, as others stated, due to the shape all Morgans suck the exhaust into the cabin, may be the ones with a spare wheel mounted suck a big amount of fume in at the spare wheel area before it reaches the cabin. Some „work arounds“ are a possible option, e.g. opening the side windows to reduce the amount of under pressure in the cabin.
When your P4SS has the latest update developed by Omex it should be reduced to a level you should not notice it, almost. Before this upgrade, the engine was running too fat and the cat could not sort it. Now, it should be fine when the engine is running leaner.
nick w, I have exactly the same thought, if the cat works properly we do not smell it but it will take the same path into the cabin. It is also weather dependend in my experience.

Another experience I made is that the cat of the P4SS could be too small. If you like to enjoy her for a longer time (and I think so, she is an awesome car) perhaps consider to change the cat for a propper 300 cells cat which can manage the 2.0 litre engine properly.
