Yes they are all the same... look the same to me when they flash too. All the lights are the same inside... I replaced all four at the same time. So I am rather perplexed

I opened a thread about the topic some time ago. If you can combine clear lenses with the reflector of the original orange item plus orange bulbs, it will be nice and should pass the MOT.

I swapped mine over two mots ago with this kit, never had an issue.
Maybe you could just buy these bulbs, they're obviously dark enough for my mot tester. Or maybe change your mot tester?

Me too, I've never shared the enthusiasm for clear indicator lenses, for me it's a safety issue. I've never seen a problem with amber indicator lenses, any more than red tail lights.

I had this trouble at MOT times on my BMW, had to change for new bulbs every couple of years. Would never put them on a Morgan.

I agree. Aren't clear bulbs cheaper than orange ones, anyway?

Problems can occur with Amber bulbs depending on the quality, the coating can crack and even fall off mixing white with the Amber light overall reducing the Amber content.

Nick,
This is quite worrying as I also use Krazy Horse for service and this year I will need an MOT ( the first )
Hold old is the MOT chap, any chance he will have retired soon?
Isn't his observation a bit subjective or should I change the lenses back to amber prior to my visit then change them back again post MOT ?
I happen to like the clear lenses that I bought from BHM.

The chap is quite young I'm afraid... :-)
He didn't fail it though... just an advisory
