Richard crash dummies and Morgans don't mix. In the 1980s . The mog was hit on Mull . Popped it in a Volvo garage I had used for years and good friends with the owner and his son and son in law hence the many Volvos we owned . Also classic car nuts owned a +8 and a 4/4 4 seater . They gave me a set of keys for the repair shop to work on it when they where closed ( evenings and weekends ). It was winter the nights cold and the winds would howl through the roof . Spooky as hell but the mog was stripped to the chassis . At this time Volvo had TV adds with plastic dummies all about safety . I would nip into a loo switch the light on open and sitting on it was a plastic dummy . No need for the loo . Pick the the bonnet up and a plastic head hidden under it . You know the score, they where having a right old time and my u/pants got changed constantly . So being a shy lad I would go into the kitchen make myself a coffee with their coffee and it clicked . A huge jar of sugar , coffee and salt etc . So I put the sugar in the salt jar and the salt in the sugar jar. Arranged them the same and waited . No more dummy pranks . I would have liked to be a fly on the wall as they knocked the first ones down . No one said a thing . innocent grin2

I'm happily doing the former unless I find it boring i.e Electrickery cars.

I still enjoy it more than the 2 grumpy old farts and the crash dummy - they just lost their way about 5 years ago.

I think I've got too old for this..both TGT and TG are more about style than substance, in my view. I enjoy the new Discovery Channel and Ant Anstead Wheeler Dealer more....

I do feel like an interloper whilst watching TG and agree with you on the style pointer, it seems to be the only important thing for todays youngsters though.
Must look up some of these other car programs and give them a look.

Caught a minute or two of TG by accident - very pleased I did not plan to watch and waste the time. Happy for those that enjoy it but it's not for me.
Mind you, I think the same about F1. Give me endurance racing anytime in preference.

No better place to watch American V8s than Fantomworks on Quest.

I watched in the hope they had taken the feedback I have observed around the Interweb. It was bland and not enough about the cars still. Whatever people say about it being general entertainment it is called Top Gear and is about cars. I don't see anything else as subject matter?

Did we see anything about the Hennessey element of the Mustang ?
Any comment on the driving environment and feedback?
I cannot even remember the third car!

I am enjoying Fast'n'Loud on Sky. Now thats a better blend of fun and cars.

I must agree, I thought the first of the new series of TG was utter rubbish and so is the magazine. It's all very well saying the target audience is young people but do they watch the tele?
Thankfully, there are a load of different car shows with something for everyone and of course, all tele's are fitted with an off switch !! oldgit

Mr Hennessey was a guest on Extra Gear and briefly talked about the improvements to the Mustang engine, but no tecchy detail.

I note also that Sabine Schmit is becoming irritating........

I enjoyed it. I don't think I'd watch Top Gear to learn about cars anymore than I'd watch Car SOS to see how to rebuild a wreck. It's just entertainment and I thought they played the parts well. Also, my wife watched it with me which is nice as she couldn't stay in the same room when Clarkson was on.
Don't hear much about their show now....is it still on?
