Watched the first one of the new series tonight.
Far too much red dust and nothing much about the cars. And really nothing else.
My advice - don't bother.

I enjoyed it much more than the 3 monkeys version - at least we only have one in this series with monkey Harris.

It was all about the 116th Celebration of the V8 and if you are not a fan it won't be for you, I loved it but I'm a V8 nut.

The Maccer came out very well in the comparison test, but at the price it is should do too.

If it's Woolard style you are after you will be disappointed but things have moved on somewhat since then.

Too late Dave, I bothered, a small part of my life has been wasted and lost forever.

It's a young persons program (commercial target age group 16-49) and if you are an old fart either factor it in or avoid it no problem really.
I'm happily doing the former unless I find it boring i.e Electrickery cars.

I still enjoy it more than the 2 grumpy old farts and the crash dummy - they just lost their way about 5 years ago.

Watched it last night but ended up thinking about the 3 cars and concluding: so what. To most people the cars are not relavent.

My favotite bit was the chain car racing.

Fell asleep part way through, for 5 minutes.
Mind you, I also fell asleep during Rocky Mountain Railway...

The Americanisation of the program irritates me. It adds bullpoo rather than interest.

I did watch it last night, and made me want to go back to the US to drive those roads again, but I enjoyed a repeat of Shed & Buried on the Travel channel much more.

Just watched Extra Gear. Much better with GT40 feature snd the Venom doing 270mph down the space shuttle runway.
Worth a look!

I think I've got too old for this..both TGT and TG are more about style than substance, in my view. I enjoy the new Discovery Channel and Ant Anstead Wheeler Dealer more....
