It is a hand operated claxton horn from a red fire engine.
Makes a wonderful sound, the kids love it and it reminds me of the 1930 era horns on the street.(before my time). just for fun Graham

No it wasn't standard, nor have I heard of it being an option; therefore, it was either made specially for that car (on request of the original owner) or bought as a spare from the parts department.
