Yes the 4/4 is by far the most popular model ...according to a new book just out!

Has anyone seen a close up picture of this?

I can see where Morgan are going with this in business terms. If they are now selling cars on the edge of the price territory staked out by the specialists such as Porker and Aston, then they are getting into "lifestyle". Many of the buyers wont be buying for the engineering and performance alone but for the badge on the bonnet and something that says "I have made it". OK they are at the bottom of that territory for the moment but its a very different market to the rough and ready of the Trad.

Lotus are trying to do the same thing albeit with more of a performance slant.

I was a bit surprised how much of this I walked into when I bought the Ferrari, but it would be dishonest to say that I didnt appreciate it. The coffee table magazines. The owners club functions. The invites to circuits. In fact everything except the dealer service charges somestick

The Morgan business model has lasted a long time.
The model range is broad but the numbers are small. Just enough to service the niche.

It would be unusual to like every model from one manufacturer and for me Morgan is no different.

Morgan are very good at what they do. More so than other niche manufacturers who come and go.

Personally I think the mount & detailing is poor, the hole for the cable should be incorporated IN in bracket or at worst below it

These cars will all sell and good luck to all purchasers. Enjoy.

Ref. free motoring; I doubt it. Let's face it money will be lost on any new car but that is not the be all end all about an emotional purchase.

Yes Morgans depreciate slower than most from the new retail price, but they do depreciate.

£107K ish now. 3 years down the track? The market will decide. £50K? £60K?

True.

I paid €43500 for my new 4/4 in 2011.

Five years later, with 30000km on the clock, I put it up for €40000, and it sold for the full asking price in less than a week.

Morgan France supplied the new car to me with 4 years warranty and servicing included in the price, so my expenses amounted to one service, the modest amount of petrol that a 4/4 sips, one set of Vredsteins (not because the Contis were worn out, but because they scared the daylights out of me) and some the insurance. So OK, not free, but a hell of a lot of fun for the small outlay involved.

Generally true but there are exceptions: 911 GT3 RS and i am sure there are others.

Will it apply to the Aero 8 GT and annerversary plus 8: not in my opinion, they are just not special enough. If the plus 8 had been offered with a 50 bhp upgrade then i would have been tempted.

I've always found it to be the most charming of the family, and it gives the most 'vintage' look and drive, which was exactly what I was after.

"Entry level" ? Never.

We all have our own personal tastes; as we say in France "Vive la difference". I have to say, that if I were to buy an aero chassis model, I'd go for an Aero rather than the new plus 8, because if I want a trad Morgan, I'll have the most trad one possible, thank you very much.
