Morning
Had my plus 4 a month now, few minor things sorted at factory but I cannot help but notice a high pitch whistle with the roof down. Is it the headlights or is it coming from elsewhere ? It is definitely a whistling noise. Any ideas ?

It is definitely a whistling noise. Any ideas ? It is most probably wind whistling through the gap between headlamp and the chrome ring. If you hold the clutch in and let the engine revs drop and the whistle continues then it is the headlamps. You can confirm 100% by putting masking tape round the headlamp, closing the gap between metal and glass. MMC fits a 4" strip of foam at the top inside the chrome ring, but in my view it isn't long enough. Dave W has posted on this topic, as have others..including me. It is easy to fix, the factory should sort it but probably will not. I used a length of self adhesive neoprene, about 5mm x 5mm most of the way round and the noise has gone. Part of the joy of owning a Morgan!

Or you could just put your foot down and pretend it's the supercharger spooling up !!

Thanks for that, took the bright work off the head lamps, needed an off set screw driver for the left light to get at screw underneath, but good get good access to the right one. Fixed neoprene tape all the way round head lamp, Re fitted and lamp now feels tight in bright work casing and you can’t see tape. Just took for test run and whistling gone totally. Thanks very much for fix.

Interestingly although my whistle is inaudible under normal conditions. under motorway bridges it appears momentarily at a very high pitch.
