Under the bonnet on the driver's side, right down at the bottom of the crankcase is an electrical cable attached by one or two bolts (there are different models). Follow the cable up, typically about 9-12 inches long, to a clip fastening (mine is under the throttle linkage but may be different on your T16 engine). Simply press the sides to unfasten the clip then re-insert it. I suggest if you can't find it have a look on the web for a picture of a crankshaft position sensor with the integrated cable it comes with for the T16 then you'll see what it looks like.

Thanks, I found a cable/plug roughly where you suggested, pulled it apart then replaced, but unfortunately no success.

Re reading your post. It does sound like the fuel pump relay as you note that there is no sound from the pump. Normally with M16/T16 one turns the key and hears the pump prime before turning to ignition. Are you sure that on your car the relays are not on the inside of the firewall just above the transmission tunnel? In addition look at the Morganatica site (Electrics/relays) which mentions a plus eight but could be relevant.
