I thought that around 500 non +8 Aeros had been produced, so the Steve Morris figure of 2000 would mean 1500 +8s. From everything I have read I would have thought the figure was more around 200-250 for +8s meaning a total number of 750 Aero type cars.
Makes it a very rare beast and IMHO excellent value secondhand compared to some other vehicles.
Cheers

2000 cars built does seem way too high. I'm wondering if it's possible Steve mis-spoke, intending to say x number of Aeros built since (the year) 2000?

There is another thread on here somewhere with more information but I am about to leave so cannot find it.
From my memory (think broken and rattling) I seem to think
S1 was quite a high number S2 was about 50 S3 was in the low hundreds S4 was around 100 Max was 100 Coupe was 20 Suspersports around 50 S5 uncertain I have not seen figures for Aero +8 but suspect it has sold better than S4
I am not certain we would see 2000 but I would put a fiver it was over 1500-1600 and maybe up to 1800

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

According to Aero 8 A Brave and Exciting New World, production numbers are as follows:
S1 214 (i thought this was much higher) S2 60 S3 208 S4 178 Aeromax 117 Supersport 132 upto jan 2013 Aero Coupe 10 upto jan 2013 GTN 11 Plus 8 98 upto jan 2013.
So probably well less than 2000 with the balance of production supersport, Coupe, plus 8 and S5.

www.howmanyleft.co.uk tells you how many Aeros, +8 , and all Morgan cars registered from 2001 to 2018 in UK only. Also tells you Sorn vehicles on graph. Vaguely interesting.

However many were built, they are all lovely. I'm just glad that, with 3 cars to run and look after, I can't find it in myself to buy one although I love the noise from the side exhaust pipes.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

Strange isn’t it that the factory always seem unable to come up with accurate figures regarding build numbers. When I was a tour guide it was exceedingly frustrating to try to get figures....everyone I asked had different numbers! Every build is logged so it can’t be that difficult to come up with figures surely.

Mine is no. 109 out of 284 produced, which includes 9 prototypes. Included in that is the trad bodied Aero 8 which Charles Morgan didn't like very much. This is what I was told at the factory, quite a few years ago, but have long since given up on information that the factory gives. Happy to stand to be corrected.
