Just completed some winter cleaning behind the rear cover and was supprised to find the factory had not put in the screws that support the sidescreen box. That explains the past clunking over bumps.

Also added some wax protection.

That was my first thought Dave but no, the box is made of wood and no holes pre drilled. There is a second bracket on the other side and it was just the same.

Less screws saves weight? flag

Morgan is e verry imaginative company.

In my first year of ownership I hat a funny expierience.

My tooltray was fastened with a screw "in the air". Someone made a wrong measerurment.

He did not fasten the screw at the right place but left it on the wrong place -but he shortend the screw! So only the Head was to be seen... And everything looked allright...

In this moment i felt the spirit of Morgan!
I have to say, that after working with Honda Motorcycles for many years it was a strange experience! crazy3

That’s why Jonathon Wells in his interview at Geneva said “ no two Morgans are alike”

Some have things fastened together and some don’t innocent

If there are no holes behind then that is odd, because there are witness marks on the metal showing that fasteners have been in there. . Could the wood(?) behind have been replaced?

Quite obviously an option box that was not ticked on the order form.
As others have said, "no two Morgans are the same"

Here for a good time not a long time!!
