On the subject of UK sleeping policeman, I was under the impression that they must be 4" high or lower. If you find any that are higher you can report the local authority. All hearsay of course, but might be worth checking.
talking of Silent Cops, when I came to Australia at many road junctions were placed large dia (about 450 mm) raised steel discs to (help) the motorist go around the obstacle and negotiate the turn safely?
THEY HAVE NOW BEEN REMOVED FROM THE ROADS
Quote from another Forum (Those of you who live is Sydney would be aware of those little yellow humps that are suppose to stop you from cutting corners. I hit one last week turning into a dark street. It hit my diff and severely damaged my rear suspension cross-member where the diff bolts on. My HSV is no longer drivable! Is this the intention of these things, to break cars, cause no effort has been made to make them visible. I didn't even know it was there till after I hit it. I cant see in the dark, and there was no dotted line to guide me into the tight street without cutting, I gave way to traffic and turned in...BANG!! These things are a menace and should be banned, or put a "keep left" sigh on top of them at eye level so we can see them.
If you are doing nothing, how do you know when you are finished?
The reason that the sump plug could not be found is that is had been driven up into the sump! Question is - could any sort of guard prevented it? Not that I am doing much driving in the Aero at present
